After we had tried the whole day to find a job but hadn’t been successful (had looked at numerous ads, called any number of any farm) we decided to continue our roadtrip. We drove 3 hours to Bundaberg,
and hoped that we would find a job over there (a town with a lot of farms around). We had arranged a couchsurfing-place in Bundaberg for us, when we had arrived nearby, we faced our first bad experience. We had just parked our car in a pretty dark corner, when anopther car drove by, and we found an egg smashed against our window. The car disappeared. First we thought it was a joke but the car returned and came to stop just behind us (three guys in hoodies got off the car). I decided to drive a bit further down the road. So we did, and finally found our couchsurfing-host, who started at once to help us to wash our car after we had told him the story. He’s a 21- year old mechanic who lives in his own flat. 🙂 He prepared a dinner for us, offered us WIFI and we had a really interesting conversation with him. 🙂
I’m sure we will sleep well here tonight and we will continue to look for a job tomorrow. 😛
